Job Description

Project Manager / Director

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager / Director to lead and oversee construction projects from planning through completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of project execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.

Candidates with proven experience in school, nursing home, and factory construction projects will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects from inception to handover.

  • Report directly to Management and provide regular updates on project progress, risks, budgets, and resource requirements.

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring project objectives, timelines, and quality standards are achieved.

  • Develop, monitor, and update project master programmes, identify critical paths, and implement recovery plans when required.

  • Lead project teams, site management staff, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Review project schedules, manpower deployment, procurement plans, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity.

  • Monitor project costs, budgets, variations, and claims to ensure financial targets and profitability are achieved.

  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, authorities, and relevant stakeholders to resolve technical, contractual, and operational matters.

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.

  • Conduct regular site visits, project reviews, and progress meetings to identify issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Oversee contract administration, tender evaluations, procurement activities, and project documentation.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of project delivery and client satisfaction.

  • Mentor and develop project team members, fostering a positive and high-performance working environment.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) and Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Singapore.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in building construction projects, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership position.

  • Proven track record in managing school, nursing home, and factory construction projects locally.

  • Experience with main contractor projects will be an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project planning, budgeting, contract administration, and project controls.

  • Familiar with local authority requirements, building regulations, and workplace safety regulations.

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams effectively.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
