Job Description

About the role:

We're hiring a Project Manager to sit at the centre of project delivery and drive execution across multiple live interior design projects for both B2C and B2B clients.

As the studio continues to deliver a growing portfolio of complex, design-led work, this role brings structure, pace, and clarity to how projects move from design development through to site completion. The Project Manager ensures timelines hold, stakeholders stay aligned, and issues are surfaced and resolved early.

This is a hands-on, demanding role suited to someone who thrives in dynamic environments, can juggle multiple priorities at once, and remains calm and organised under pressure. Projects are creative and subjective by nature, requiring judgement, diplomacy, and excellent relationship skills.

The role offers significant ownership and autonomy. You will work closely alongside the founders, effectively acting as their execution partner across active projects, with real responsibility for how work is delivered day to day.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Design

  • Own end-to-end delivery across multiple interior design projects, from design development through site completion, with a clear focus on quality and finish.

  • Build and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and dependencies to protect design intent and execution standards.

  • Track progress and surface risks early (sequencing, buildability, delays, scope changes), then drive resolution without compromising quality.

  • Own drawing package control: accuracy, completeness, versioning, and alignment to MO standards and project specifications.

  • Review and comment on contractor and supplier shop drawings to ensure they reflect the design intent, detailing, and quality requirements.

  • Lead coordination across design development, tender, and post-tender workflows, ensuring all parties are aligned before work proceeds.

  • Protect design integrity on site by catching issues early, managing substitutions, and maintaining consistent detailing and finishes.

  • Track project budgets at a practical level (claims, variations, approvals) and manage changes so quality is preserved within agreed spend.

  • Coordinate with founders and the accountant on invoicing triggers and documentation, ensuring billing reflects true project status and deliverables.

  • Maintain clean project records and documentation standards so decisions, approvals, and revisions are traceable.

  • Produce concise meeting notes, site notes, and action lists that drive follow-through and reduce rework.

  • Act as a hands-on problem solver, stepping in quickly to remove blockers and uphold MO's standard across every detail.

Stakeholders relationship

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, consultants, and contractors to support consistent quality and delivery.

  • Coordinate across consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal team members to keep execution aligned, timely, and to standard.

  • Lead site coordination: attend site meetings, track progress against plan, follow up on actions, and drive closure of outstanding works and defects.

  • Support client communication by ensuring updates are clear, timely, and consistent with the agreed design intent and decisions.

  • Represent MO in client and site meetings when required, escalating decisions to founders where needed.

Mentorship

  • Assist in mentoring and motivating development of other team members

  • Lead and foster a collaborative team environment by taking the initiative to share ideas and knowledge

  • Promote and develop the office culture through attending events, seminars & structured and informal creative sessions.

Minimum Qualifications we expect:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Interior Design/Architecture

  • 6+ years of hands-on project management experience in luxury residential/hospitality interior design, architecture, or design & build environments

  • Proven strong expertise in spatial design and interior architectural detailing to transform concepts into reality, assisting Founders/Creative Directors in developing a project from Design Development to Completion.

  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in client-facing settings, having demonstrated the ability to operate in fast-paced, changeable environments with competing priorities

  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, trades, and fit-out processes, regular site exposure, with confidence dealing directly with contractors and suppliers

  • Independent working style with excellent organisational and coordination skills along with the ability to stay composed under pressure

  • Clear, structured communication skills, both written and verbal, fluent in English (Mandarin Chinese is a plus)

  • Software proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp

  • Please note: This role is not suitable for candidates whose experience is limited to single-project delivery or highly structured corporate environments.

To be successful in the role, it will be great to have:

  • Good appreciation of high end residential/commercial designs that align with MO Clientele's vision & project goals

  • Experience in preparing and evaluating drawing packages and interior detailing

  • Familiarity with Singapore interior design practices and site conditions

  • Exposure to project financials such as claims, variations, and budget tracking

  • Experience coordinating with remote teams or outsourced drafters

  • Comfort using tools such as Google Sheets, Asana, Notion, or similar project tracking systems

  • Experience or interest in incorporating AI automation into work flows for increased productivity

Why this role is exciting

  • High ownership: real responsibility for how projects are delivered

  • Founder proximity: work closely with founders and influence day-to-day execution

  • Creative environment: operate within a design-led, inspiring industry

  • Variety and pace: manage multiple bespoke projects rather than repetitive work

  • Autonomy with trust: freedom to run projects end to end, with support when needed
