Job Description

Scrum Master - Private Banking / Wealth Management

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master / IT Project Manager to lead and deliver Agile projects or squads end-to-end, ensuring successful delivery within agreed scope, timeline, and budget.

The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to Wealth Management and Private Banking, with a solid understanding of industry innovation and transformation trends. This role requires experience in Agile ways of working and effective stakeholder engagement across departments and geographies.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Delivery Management

  • Analyse and define project ideas, assessing feasibility, cost-effectiveness, risks, and success factors in collaboration with Business and IT stakeholders.

  • Develop comprehensive project proposals, including objectives, scope, resources, milestones, timelines, cost estimates, and governance structure.

  • Drive proposals through demand governance processes.

  • Establish appropriate project management frameworks, monitor performance, and report status to senior stakeholders.

  • Escalate risks and issues proactively when required.

  • Develop detailed project plans and work breakdown structures (sub-projects, work packages, etc.).

  • Set up and manage project organisation, including stakeholder and team alignment.

  • Manage scope, timelines, budget, risks, and issues at an operational level.

  • Assess impact of change requests and propose mitigation or alternative solutions for governance approval.

  • Lead roll-out and go-live activities, ensuring smooth handover to Operations.

  • Implement project-related quality assurance processes and ensure deliverable acceptance.

Agile & Squad Leadership

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, etc.).

  • Lead squads in key project forums such as SIT, UAT checkpoints, BRD walkthroughs, and solution reviews.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualise user journeys, design and prioritise features.

  • Break down complex problems into actionable steps and drive execution independently.

  • Present project updates, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management

  • Represent IT/Project Leadership when engaging internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proactively mitigate risks and communicate clearly and effectively.

  • Provide transparent updates on progress, issues, and proposed solutions.

  • Drive collaboration between IT and business teams.

  • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions for newly implemented modules or enhancements.

Regulatory & Risk Management

  • Demonstrate strong ethical standards, integrity, due diligence, and fair dealing.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal risk frameworks.

  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to assess regulatory considerations for digital solutions.

  • Promote a culture of sound risk management and continuous professional development.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

  • 7-10 years of IT experience in Project Management and/or Business Analysis, delivering Hybrid or Agile projects.

  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects on time, within budget, and with quality in matrix environments.

  • Strong experience managing senior stakeholders and steering committees.

  • Experience managing project financials (forecast vs. actual).

  • Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

  • Domain expertise in Wealth Management or Private Banking preferred.

  • Strong understanding of client journeys, business processes, and process re-engineering-particularly in online trading across asset classes and digital channels.

  • Experience in product discovery and delivery, including user research, prioritisation, and outcome-driven execution.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate trade-offs effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.

  • Self-driven, adaptable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Experience defining product vision and strategy, managing full product lifecycle from ideation to scale, and integrating user feedback into prioritisation decisions.
