Job Description
Delivery of Marine Warranty Survey, Engineering and Marine Operations The key dimensions of the role include:
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues at all levels.
- Undertake independent calculations when needed to verify the calculations submitted by Client / Contractor.
- Partake in hazard identification workshops / risk assessment meetings and supporting the reduction of risks during the planned installations to as low as reasonably practicable.
- Attend operations on board vessels or at construction sites (Onshore and Offshore), review and approve changes and issue certificates of approval as required.
- Participate in consultancy work with other departments in the company.
- Participate in HSE awareness and promote safety amongst colleagues and have a pro-active approach to QSHE issues.
- Maintain financial awareness of projects and invoice in a timely manner.
- Support Project Management and Project Coordination activities.
- Document review (engineering and procedure related to onshore, offshore and subsea construction).
- Vessel Inspection (Suitability Survey, Conditional Survey, Onhire and Offhire Survey)..
Client Management
- Addressing client needs and management of client expectations.
- Supporting development and or changing of work scope / cost variations.
- General client relationship management.
Quality Assurance
- Project overview for technical correctness.
- Assurance of high-quality standard for deliverables.
- To follow the group Business Management System.
- Preparing deliverables and reporting written to a high standard of English.
Business Development / Recruitment
- Work with Management to identify potential business streams.
- Maintain and develop contacts and develop new business opportunities.
- To work with Management to meet departmental growth targets.
- Attend and carry out business development meetings with clients.
- Prepare proposals for new work.
Requirements
- Have a degree qualification in Naval Architecture or related discipline, with offshore construction or offshore operations experience.
- Have excellent Microsoft office skills.
- Be able to work both independently and in a small team.
- Be a confident self-starter who works proactively.
- Be able to demonstrate great attention to detail.
- Be able to demonstrate strong communication skills.
Preferred Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience - Be registered with a professional body relevant to offshore engineering.
- Utilise technical software to an advanced level efficiently and effectively.
- Be familiar with structural design and/or hydrodynamic design procedures.
- BOSIET or GWO and Offshore Medical in order to travel offshore.
- Experienced in Business Development.
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in Marine Warranty Services.
- Accredited member of SOMWS.
