Project Engineer

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and execute mechanical installation, modification, and improvement works.

Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and scope of work.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet client and stakeholder expectations.

Liaise with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure design intent and quality standards are met.

Ensure mechanical works comply with relevant codes, standards, and statutory requirements.
Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, piping systems, HVAC, machinery).

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.

Recommend improvements for system reliability and cost efficiency.
Supervise and guide technicians or subcontractors during installation and maintenance tasks.

Prepare reports, progress updates, and technical documentation as required.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical projects and/or maintenance works.

Experience in facilities management, water treatment, manufacturing, or building services is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and maintenance procedures.

Proficient in reading technical drawings and using engineering software

Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with local codes, safety standards, and statutory requirements

Ability to work independently and lead a small team.
