JOB RESPONSIBILITIES &DUTIES
- Project Planning, Design, and Coordination
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams such as engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning teams to ensure project alignment.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and project updates to stakeholders.
- To incorporate plumbing designs into overall M&E project planning and ensure alignment with PUB and BCA regulations.
2. Technical Oversight and Plumbing Installation
- Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure designs and solutions comply with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to validate designs.
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances (e.g., sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters).
- Install and connect sanitary ware, such as toilets, urinals, and washbasins.
- Set up and configure water treatment and filtration systems.
- Implement quality control processes to maintain high standards.
- Supervise plumbing works to ensure compliance with statutory submissions, inspections, and signoffs.
3. Project Execution and Monitoring
- Oversee the execution of engineering tasks and ensure adherence to project plans.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and manage schedules.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage changes in project scope, schedule, or costs.
- Inspect and test plumbing systems to identify potential problems and ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot technical and plumbing issues, proposing effective solutions.
- Ensure all plumbing works carried out under the oversight and arrange for required PUB/BCA inspections and testing.
4. Budget, Resource, and Risk Management
- Monitor expenses and ensure projects stay within budget.
- Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project goals.
- Address safety concerns and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Resolve conflicts or disputes that may arise during the project.
- Coordinate on plumbing material selection and specifications, ensuring both quality and cost-efficiency.
5. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals for plumbing projects.
- Stay updated on changes in plumbing codes and industry best practices.
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on the job.
- Use personal protective equipment(PPE) and ensure a safe working environment.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards related to plumbing and engineering work.
- To ensure all plumbing submissions to authorities (e.g., PUB, BCA) are properly prepared, submitted, and approved.
6. Client and Stakeholder Communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Address client concerns and ensure their requirements are met.
- Provide post-project support and address issues during the warranty period.
- Prepare invoices, receipts, and project documentation for future reference.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of components and services.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of technical proposals and project status updates during client meetings.
- Clarify plumbing-related queries to address technical issues and inspection outcomes.
7. Additional Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of tenders, bids, and project proposals.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact project execution.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
- Ensure plumbing drawings, submissions, and on-site work are endorsed and caried out in accordance with PUB guidelines.
- Any other ad-hoc duties are required to be carried out.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
- Valid PUB registered Licensed Plumber.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably in a similar industry.
- Understanding of pump systems, piping, and mechanical/electrical components.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams and clients.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site and travel to project locations as required.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations relevant to construction and pump system installation.
