Junior Project Engineer - Chemical Cleaning
Job Overview
The Junior Project Engineer - Chemical Cleaning will support and gradually take ownership of industrial chemical cleaning and process decontamination projects at CR3 Singapore and, when required, in regional client sites across Asia Pacific. The role offers hands-on experience in project execution, planning, and client coordination, with guidance from senior engineers and HOD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of chemical cleaning projects for equipment such as heat exchangers, boilers, condensers, pipelines, and process systems.
  • Support plant maintenance, shutdowns, and turnaround activities, ensuring cleaning operations are completed safely and on schedule.
  • Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and job safety analyses (JSA).
  • Coordinate with site supervisors, technicians, and client operations teams during project execution.
  • Monitor chemical circulation parameters, including pH, temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
  • Assist in the setup of chemical cleaning equipment such as pumps, tanks, hoses, and temporary piping systems.
  • Conduct sampling and chemical testing to ensure cleaning effectiveness.
  • Contribute to project documentation, daily reports, and completion reports.
  • Participate in technical discussions and project planning, gaining experience in leading minor project tasks under guidance.
  • Willingness to travel regionally on short notice to support existing projects if required.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with 0-2 years of experience are welcome.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial chemical cleaning, plant systems, and chemical handling is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and coordination skills.
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel to client plants, locally and regionally.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of corrosion control, acid cleaning, and passivation processes.
  • Familiarity with pumps, piping systems, and industrial process equipment.
  • Interest in project management, client coordination, and technical leadership.
  • Awareness of industrial safety standards and chemical handling procedures.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office-based planning and field supervision.
  • Frequent work at industrial sites such as refineries, petrochemical plants, and power stations.
  • May involve extended hours or shifts during plant shutdowns and maintenance projects.
  • Opportunity to gain exposure to regional projects and participate in technical discussions with stakeholders.
