Overall Role:
Oversee all construction operations, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Develop strategies, policies, and procedures to manage time, cost, quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
Lead senior engineers, construction managers, and project managers to ensure efficient operations.
Drive continuous improvement, sustainability initiatives, and high-quality standards.
Travel to project sites as needed in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties:
1. Manage Construction Phase
Approve construction contracts, tender documents, and project plans.
Oversee construction progress, ensuring time, cost, and quality targets are met.
Implement risk management policies and compliance with regulations.
Coordinate with multiple disciplines and subcontractors for smooth operations.
Promote a culture of quality assurance and control.
2. Project Completion & Closure
Manage stakeholder expectations for defects, errors, and variations.
Oversee commissioning, testing, handover, and closure documentation.
Ensure defect resolution during the defects liability period.
3. Safety & Sustainability
Enforce Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies.
Develop organisational safety and environmental procedures.
Recommend improvements based on incident trends.
Promote green building and sustainability initiatives.
4. People & Organisational Management
Recruit, develop, and manage project teams.
Drive team performance to meet project targets.
Monitor budgets and financial performance.
Support business development and strategic objectives.
5. Continuous Improvement
Stay updated on construction trends and technologies.
Evaluate and implement new technologies and processes.
Drive improvements in time, cost, and quality.
Ensure risk management plans comply with organisational standards.
6. Compliance & Performance
Ensure adherence to Building Control Act, Electricity Act, Fire Safety Act, and WSH Act.
Master's / Bachelor's degree in Building Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience managing full-cycle projects worth $1B+.
Minimum 20 years in large-scale building projects ( $100M) with at least 10 years in corporate project management.
Preferably A-Star accredited and PMI-certified (PMP).
Skilled in leading diverse, multi-functional teams.
Strong leadership, analytical, presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledgeable in construction project management best practices.
