Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate switchboard and related electrical or telecommunications installation projects from initiation to completion.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to interpret switchboard specifications, drawings, and layouts.
  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using project management tools.
  • Track project budgets, resource allocation, and procurement of materials and switchboard components.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of equipment and components.
  • Schedule site work and coordinate with installation teams and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including project plans, risk registers, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with local and national codes or regulations.
  • Handle customer and stakeholder communications regarding progress, changes, or issues.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, ideally in electrical, construction, or switchboard-related projects.
  • Familiarity with switchboard systems, electrical installations, or telecom networks is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, switchboards, or distribution boards (desirable).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Smartsheet).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certifications (preferred but not required):

  • PMP or CAPM (Project Management Institute)
  • Electrical Safety certifications
  • Construction Induction (White Card) or similar (for site access)

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with regular visits to job sites or client facilities.
  • May require occasional travel.
  • Use of PPE and adherence to site safety rules when on-site.
