The role is responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of financials for the allocated project providing support for any financial reports, data and analysis sought by business / LAIO supporting the financial audit process with the objective of timely and accurate preparation and reporting of financials for the project in line with timelines and LAIO standards, policies and guidelines.
Job Duties
- Prepare journals and accounting entries in the general ledger
- Prepare accounts reconciliation schedules
- Prepare management reports in accordance with the reporting requirements
- Prepare financial reporting packages and draft statutory financial statements
- Review payment files prepared by junior staff members
- Preparation of any ad hoc reports as requested by management / project from time to time
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Supervise accounts payable, petty cash and other day-to-day functions / operations in accordance with LAIO group policy / internal control standards
- Conduct periodic analysis of financials based on GL information for current and prior periods
- Prepare financial information analysis and management reports and explain variances
- Address management requests including information for business decision, ratio analyses, WIP analysis, RoA/RoE analysis, etc.
- Provide support for audit and tax compliance related activities
- Prepare financials as per audit requirements
- Prepare the draft statutory accounts for business review
- Prepare and discuss the draft tax computation and filing with tax consultants (if any)
Job Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or related disciplines, preferably a fully qualified accountant or pursing to be a qualified accountant
- Total Work Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience
- Experience in Big 4 audit firm or construction industry is preferable
- Knowledge on statutory requirements
- Basic understanding of the audit process & tax compliance
- Understanding of accounting skills, practices and standards
