Job Description

A. Job Description

The Programme & Training Assistant Manager supports the CFL manager to organise and deliver training and support programmes of Caring for Life (CFL), for persons with suicide ideation, suicide attempt survivors and suicide loss survivors. As part of outreach efforts to reach these persons in need, he/she will engage and work with partners like Hospitals, Social Service Organisations, Corporations, Academic Institutions, Faith-based Organisations and Grassroots Organisations. He/she will also supervise peer leaders and volunteers in the conduct of training classes.

B. Job Responsibilities

(1) Provides programme leadership and team-level supervision in relation to the mission and objectives of CFL.

(2) Holds responsibility for the planning, organisation and delivery of training and support programmes of CFL i.e. Training and Education in the Community, Support Groups for Suicide Attempt Survivors and Suicide Loss Survivors, including outreach, engagement and recruitment of groups and individuals to be trained.

(3) Oversees screening, recruiting, matching, orientation and training of peer leaders and volunteers, in the delivery of the programmes and training.

(4) Manages the scheduling of team staff and volunteers to ensure adequate resources for delivery of programmes and training at all times.

(5) Supervises and monitors the performance of peer leaders and volunteers in their various assignments in the delivery of programmes and training, and provides help where needed.

(6) Completes performance evaluations and recognition of peer leaders and volunteers, with the Executive Director & Clinical Director.

(7) Develops and conducts research and evaluation to document the quality and effectiveness of CFL services, in consultation with Executive Director & Clinical Director.

(8) Submits and presents monthly service reports, and other reporting requirements, relating to training and support programmes provided by CFL.

(9) Contributes as part of core team in planning, development and review of CFL training material.

(10) Performs any other duties as requested by Executive Director or Clinical Director.

C. Job Requirements

(1) Has at least a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or Nursing

(2) Has at least 3 years of working experience in the social service or related fields. Experience working with hospitals or grassroots will be an advantage

(3) Possesses good organisational, language, communication, networking, and interpersonal skills

(4) Possesses supervisory and/or volunteer management experience, and works well in teams

(5) Has passion and dedication in working with persons and families with experience of suicide ideation, risk or loss and/or persons mental health conditions.
