The Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) is a national trade association formed in 1985 to serve the interests of its members and enhance the competitiveness of Singapore as a leading International Maritime Centre and global hub port. The association represents over 500 member companies comprising of ship owners and operators, ship managers, ship agents and other ancillary companies such as shipbrokers, classification societies, marine insurers, bunker suppliers, maritime lawyers, shipping bankers, maritime tech startups amongst others.
As the voice of the shipping industry, the SSA engages and collaborates with related government agencies, and is also actively involved in promoting Singapore's shipping interests both regionally and internationally. SSA also strives to give back generously on behalf of its members, to nurture the next generation of maritime talent and in Corporate Social Responsibilities activities.
Job Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Communications & Membership, the Programme Executive (Membership), will be part of a dynamic team responsible for membership engagement that support the Association's vision and goals. The incumbent will also be responsible for programme administration of the Career Conversion Programme (Sea Transport) run by the SSA.
Key tasks
Assist in the implementation of SSA's membership engagement strategy, including new members acquisition management and membership account management framework
Co-ordinate customer leads process and new member orientation sessions
Manage membership portal back end database management
Execute customer relationship management operations, including managing membership life cycle - eligibility, member onboarding, renewal and offboarding processes
Generate monthly reporting on membership matters
Provide logistical support for Human Capital workgroup meetings
Manage enquiries and respond to potential applying companies with programme information
Manage grant application process from eligibility checks to application transaction on government portal
Generate monthly placement and budget utilization reports for submission to grantor
Generate monthly reporting on programme performance for management
Core skills
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess customer orientation, sense-making, problem-solving, stakeholder management and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented, resourceful and collaborative team player.
Requirements
2-3 years of experience in a customer facing role that has key account management remit
Ideally have worked in a membership-based organisation, but not required
Business administration, communication or similar qualifications. Diploma graduates are welcomed
Experience in handling CRM system and reviewing databases
