Job Description

Programme Executive - DDC-ENLIVEN Programme

The Programme Executive will plan, develop and implement engaging programs tailored to support seniors with mild to moderate dementia and their caregivers (Participants). The role requires a compassionate individual with strong organisational skills and a background in gerontology, social work, psychology or a related field.

Job Responsibilities
1.0 Programme Planning and Development:

  • Design and implement a variety of activities that promote cognitive stimulation, physical health, and social engagement for seniors with dementia.
  • Develop monthly activity calendars covering areas such as arts and crafts, music, exercise, memory games and social events/activities.

  • Adapt programs to meet the individual needs and interests of participants, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Develop interventions and strategies and evaluate them.

1.1 Implementation and Management:

  • Lead and facilitate daily activities and events, providing hands-on support to Participants.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment during all activities, addressing any issues that arise promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and other staff members to deliver programs efficiently.

1.2 Participant Support and Engagement:

  • Build trusting relationships with Participants and their families, offering support and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct regular assessments of Participants needs and progress, adjusting programmes accordingly.
  • Provide training and guidance to volunteers and staff on dementia care best practices and effective communication strategies.

1.3 Administration and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, Participant progress, and programme evaluations.
  • Prepare reports on program outcomes and Participant feedback for review.
  • Assist in budget management, ensuring resources are used efficiently and within allocated limits.

1.4 Community Outreach and Partnerships:

  • Develop partnerships with local organisations, healthcare providers, and community groups to enhance program offerings and resources.
  • Promote the program within the community to increase awareness and participation.
  • Organise and participate in community events and workshops related to dementia care and senior wellness.

1.5 Others

  • Attend to public enquiries.
  • Maintain proper records and prepare reports.
  • Undertake any other projects or duties assigned.

2.0 Requirements for the position:

  • At least a Certificate in Care &Coordination (Community Eldercare)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably working with seniors with dementia.
  • Strong understanding of dementia, including symptoms, progression, and care strategies.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with seniors, families, and professionals.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable populations.
  • BCLS and CPR certification preferred.
