  • This position is forCentre for Global Education and Opportunities (GEO).
  • Programme Management & Student Engagement
    • Manage the end-to-end operations of outbound programmes, including summer/winter SSPs, summer exchanges, and other faculty-led short-term overseas programmes.
    • Lead student recruitment efforts for all outbound programmes by planning and executing outreach campaigns, info sessions, digital communications, and briefing sessions.
    • Act as a primary point of contact for prospective and participating students, providing timely support and guidance from application to completion.
    • Organise and deliver pre-departure briefings, orientation sessions, and student engagement activities (e.g. talks, workshops, cultural briefings).
    • Ensure high-quality student experience and learning outcomes through effective communication, issue resolution, and relationship-building.
  • Partner University Liaison & Stakeholder Coordination
    • Serve as the key liaison with partner universities across ASEAN, Asia, and beyond, managing day-to-day communications and coordination for all outbound programmes.
    • Facilitate the nomination, application, and selection process in collaboration with overseas institutions and internal departments.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with institutional partners to ensure continued collaboration, programme alignment, and student support.
    • Coordinate with external stakeholders such as vendors, industry partners, and funders to deliver meaningful student experiences and ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
    • Support the procurement process by evaluating vendors, preparing documentation, and managing contracts and service delivery.
  • General & Ad Hoc Responsibilities
    • Support the implementation of inbound programmes when needed, including logistics, event planning, and coordination with SMU faculty and partners.
    • Contribute to special projects and new programme pilots as assigned.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree holder, preferably with programme delivery and event planning/management experience.
  • Familiarity with operations in global education, including cross-border programme administration, student engagement, and international collaboration.
  • Experience in running student programmes at the university level and/or managing cross-cultural student events.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Power Automate for workflow automation and digital forms/surveys, and skilled in using Power BI to develop dashboards and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Comfortable using design and video editing tools such as Canva and CapCut to create engaging communication materials, event recaps, and student-facing visuals.
  • Driven self-starter with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills able to identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement solutions independently.
  • Strong team player who is resourceful, resilient, and thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and ambiguous work environment.
  • Good communication skills - both written and spoken - and confident in leading and engaging tertiary students of different nationalities.
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented, with a strong appreciation for thorough planning, accurate documentation, and process consistency.
