Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for engineering programs. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing, and quality assurance, to achieve project goals. Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any technical or logistical challenges that emerge. Provide technical guidance in precision engineering processes such as CNC machining, micro-fabrication, and metrology. Oversee prototype development and assess manufacturability of designs. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for high-precision components and systems. Ensure adherence to strict quality and tolerance standards characteristic of precision engineering. Coordinate testing, validation, and inspection of components and assemblies. Serve as the primary liaison for clients, suppliers, and internal teams regarding technical updates and project status. Prepare and deliver progress reports, technical documentation, and risk assessments to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a comparable discipline. 4-5 years of experience in program or project engineering within the precision engineering or manufacturing sectors. Practical experience with CNC machining, CAD/CAM software, and high-precision measurement tools is advantageous. Strong understanding of precision manufacturing processes and materials. Proficiency in engineering software, such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD is beneficial. Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities. Strong project management skills, with familiarity in tools like MS Project. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for successful cross-team collaboration. Knowledge of industry standards, including ISO 9001 and AS9100. Experience in managing client relationships in industries such as semiconductor, aerospace, medical devices, and analytical life sciences. Awareness of advanced manufacturing techniques, like additive manufacturing and laser machining, is a plus.
