Role Overview
The Program Engineer is responsible for supporting the execution and coordination of customer programs for Fu Yu Singapore, supporting customers globally. This role works closely with the Program Manager to manage programs across different stages of the product lifecycle, from project initiation and development through NPI and mass production.
The Program Engineer focuses on day-to-day program execution, coordination, and follow-up across cross-functional teams and regional manufacturing sites. This role ensures that program timelines, deliverables, and requirements are tracked and achieved in alignment with customer expectations and internal processes.
The Program Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring disciplined execution and operational alignment across all program activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program & Project Management
. Support the Program Manager in managing customer programs from project award through mass production
. Assist in defining project scope, objectives, timelines, deliverables, and success criteria
. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and milestone trackers
. Monitor program progress and highlight risks, issues, and dependencies
. Follow up on action items to ensure timely completion across teams
. Support resolution of program issues related to cost, quality, delivery, and scope
. Ensure projects are executed in accordance with Fu Yu's internal processes and customer requirements
. Prepare and support regular project reviews and status meetings with internal teams and customers
2. Program Execution Support
. Execute assigned program tasks under the guidance of the Program Manager
. Support coordination of workloads and priorities across assigned programs
. Provide timely updates on task progress, risks, and issues
. Maintain discipline in execution, documentation, and follow-up
. Contribute to a collaborative and accountable working environment
3. Customer & Stakeholder Management
. Support the Program Manager as a point of contact for assigned customers
. Participate in customer meetings, program reviews, and milestone discussions
. Ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and communicated internally
. Track and follow up on customer deliverables and commitments
. Support preparation for customer audits and program reviews
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
. Work closely with internal Engineering, Design, Tooling, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams
. Facilitate alignment between customer requirements and internal execution
. Follow up on engineering inputs, DFM reviews, design updates, and validation activities
. Coordinate tooling development, sample builds, and qualification activities
. Support cross-functional problem-solving for technical or execution challenges
5. Liaison with Engineering & Design Teams
. Act as a coordination point between customer requirements and Engineering/Design teams
. Support discussions on product design, manufacturability, and feasibility
. Track Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
. Ensure design specifications and changes are communicated and documented clearly
. Follow up to ensure engineering deliverables meet program timelines
6. Regional Site & Project Coordination
. Coordinate program activities across Fu Yu's regional manufacturing sites in Singapore, Malaysia, and China
. Track timelines, deliverables, and responsibilities across sites
. Facilitate communication between sites to ensure alignment and execution consistency
. Support smooth NPI transfer and production ramp-up across locations
. Escalate issues to the Program Manager when cross-site challenges arise
7. Commercial & Operational Support
. Support tracking of program costs including tooling and project-related expenses
. Assist in quotation reviews and documentation as required
. Ensure scope changes are properly recorded and communicated
. Track program KPIs such as schedule adherence and delivery performance
. Support preparation of program status reports
8. Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
. Identify potential risks and escalate to the Program Manager
. Support development and tracking of mitigation and contingency actions
. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up
. Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
. On-time completion of assigned program tasks and milestones
. Accuracy and timeliness of program tracking and reporting
. Effectiveness of cross-functional coordination and follow-up
. Responsiveness to customer and internal stakeholder requirements
. Quality and completeness of program documentation
. Contribution to overall program success in cost, quality, and delivery
Qualifications & Experience
. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent
. 3-5 years of relevant experience in program coordination, project engineering, or manufacturing environments
. Hands-on experience in precision engineering, plastics injection molding, tooling development, or contract manufacturing
. Proven exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI), including tooling, sample builds, validation, and production ramp-up
. Strong cross-functional experience working with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams would be plus points
. Working knowledge of engineering change processes (ECR/ECO) and basic quality tools (e.g., PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans)

Travel Requirements
. Travel to Fu Yu sites and customer locations as required
