Production Support Analyst - SQL DBA

Mandatory Skill : MS SQL DBA, Always-on, Performance Tuning

Core Database Administration

. Manage and maintain SQL Server instances across development, QA, and production environments.

. Configure and support Always-On Availability Groups, failover clusters, and other HA/DR solutions

. Perform database installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations across SQL Server versions (2008-2019)

. Conduct performance tuning using indexing strategies, query optimization, and monitoring tools like SQL Profiler and Extended Events

BAU (Business-As-Usual) Support

. Provide L3-level support for escalated tickets from L2 teams, including incident resolution and root cause analysis

. Participate in 24x7 production support, including weekend and off-hours coverage for outages and scheduled activities

. Troubleshoot issues related to login failures, port conflicts, TLS/SSL handshakes, and cross-server connectivity

. Coordinate with infrastructure teams (e.g., firewall/DNS) to resolve network-related SQL issues

Monitoring & Reporting

. Set up and maintain automated alerts, health checks, and performance dashboards.

. Redesign and automate SQL reports based on business requirements

. Document resolution steps and best practices in centralized knowledge bases

Testing & Deployment

. Support UAT data setup for bug fixes and application releases

. Coordinate deployments to UAT and production environments in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.

. Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings for approval of DB changes

Security & Compliance

. Configure and maintain user roles, permissions, and SQL security policies.

. Provide audit deliverables for internal and external audits

Ensure compliance with organizational standards for data integrity and access control
