Production Operations Manager

A client within the precision engineering and advanced manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee plant operations and drive operational excellence across multiple production units.

This leadership role will be responsible for coordinating operational activities across the production environment, ensuring manufacturing processes meet customer requirements, quality standards, and operational performance targets, while maintaining the highest levels of health, safety, and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee operational activities across the manufacturing plant to ensure efficient production performance.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, procedures, and policies to maintain high manufacturing standards.
• Ensure products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
• Optimize manpower utilization, production workflows, and material usage to achieve operational and financial targets.
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce operational costs, and minimize scrap or rework.
• Monitor and manage plant performance metrics and operational KPIs.
• Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, including process optimization and operational excellence programs.
• Lead key operational and process improvement projects across the manufacturing facility.
• Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with industry developments, manufacturing technologies, and operational best practices.

Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead and develop production management and supervisory teams across the plant.
• Conduct performance reviews and support capability development of operational staff.
• Foster a strong team-oriented culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
• Identify training needs and support workforce capability development initiatives.
• Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders and external customers where required.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of management experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes and production operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
