The Production Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of production operations, including research & development (R&D) activities, to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, product quality, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and technical expertise in food production and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
- Plan, organize, and control production schedules to meet targets and deadlines.
- Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Monitor daily production performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
2. R&D and Product Development
- Collaborate with the R&D team to develop new products and improve existing formulations.
- Oversee pilot runs and product trials, ensuring smooth transition to full-scale production.
- Support innovation projects to enhance product quality, shelf life, and cost efficiency.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure production processes comply with SFA, HACCP, ISO, and other food safety regulations.
- Work closely with the QA/QC team to maintain high product quality standards.
- Implement and monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and workplace safety measures.
4. People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop production staff to achieve department objectives.
- Conduct training for operators on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate staff performance and recommend improvements or career development plans.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Reduce wastage and improve production yield.
- Work with cross-functional teams to optimize cost and efficiency.
