Internship Program Overview:
Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GF, you'll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.
Summary of Role:
Support the Global Production Planning & Scheduling team in strengthening digital operations across wafer start planning, WIP management, production scheduling, analytics, and enterprise reporting. The intern will gain exposure to semiconductor planning while contributing to improvements in cycle time, capacity utilization, and delivery performance.
Essential Responsibilities include:
Analyze wafer start plans, WIP movement, and production schedules.
Monitor planning KPIs such as cycle time, fab output, and backlog-to-start (BTS).
Assist in identifying opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency and manufacturing performance.
Collaborate with Fab Operations, Central Supply Planning, Business Finance and Engineering teams.
Support data validation and process automation initiatives.
Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI, or other analytics and AI tools.
Present findings and recommendations to management at the end of the internship.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:
Education - Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering / Supply Chain / Operations Management / Data Analytics / Manufacturing Engineering, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
Must be in good academic standing.
Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Available for a 16-24 week credit-bearing internship commencing January 2027.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior related internship or co-op experience
Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
Knowledge of manufacturing planning, supply chain, or semiconductor operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional environment.
