Job Description

Job Scope

  • Lead, guide, and motivate a production team engaged in the machining, assembly, or fabrication of precision and complex components, ensuring adherence to production schedules and meeting customer requirements.

  • Oversee and support employee development through recruitment, performance management, training programs, coaching, and mentoring. Recognize and reward employees contributions to drive engagement and results aligned with business objectives.

  • Promote and maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment by implementing and driving 6S standards across the production cell.

  • Manage daily production operations, including capacity planning, workflow coordination, and machine optimization to maximize efficiency.

  • Support and participate in Lean manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives, continuously identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Coordinate and communicate with other production cells or departments to ensure smooth process flow and timely resolution of operational issues.

  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in ERP systems (e.g., Syteline) for production tracking, inventory management, and reporting.

  • Oversee consumable usage, production delivery metrics, risk assessments, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

  • Conduct regular team meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce best practices, safety, and operational updates.

  • Foster a positive work environment by maintaining a motivated, disciplined, and engaged workforce, promoting collaboration, employee morale, and a culture of accountability.

  • Provide direction, guidance, and support to team members within the assigned area or shift, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues impacting production or quality.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and operational efficiency enhancement.

  • Build strong, cohesive teams that leverage diverse skills and perspectives to achieve shared goals, encouraging clear, professional communication and active listening.

  • Manage employee relations, including grievances, disciplinary issues, attendance, leave schedules, overtime, and performance appraisals, ensuring fairness and compliance with statutory regulations.

  • Plan and schedule overtime effectively to meet production needs while adhering to legal limits.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting overall production and organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or relevant field)

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a production engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment and technologies

  • Proficient in data analysis and process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)

  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Experience in leading and training production teams is highly desirable
