The Product Designer plays a key role in developing and executing creative design concepts that support the visual identity, branding, and storytelling of our retail stores and merchandise. This role is primarily focused on endtoend product design, from concept ideation to production handover, ensuring all designs are innovative, commercially viable, and aligned with brand direction.
In addition to product design, the role includes supporting Visual Merchandising in interpreting how the product programs are executed in-store. The designer will create instore visuals and contribute to productled retail storytelling. This position requires strong creative thinking, attention to detail, proficiency in product development processes, spatial planning awareness and the ability to translate brand narratives into compelling merchandise and onsite experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and develop original product collections across various categories, including apparel, accessories, souvenirs, and other consumer merchandise, in alignment with brand guidelines and merchandising objectives.
- Conduct market and competitive research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and opportunities that facilitate design direction and product strategy.
- Produce detailed design materials, including sketches, technical drawings, and prototypes, for internal review and handover to the merchandising team for production.
- Collaborate closely with the merchandising team throughout the product development process to ensure design intent is maintained and product quality is met through sample reviews and necessary refinements.
- Create in-store display signage and promotional collaterals to support Visual Merchandising and Merchandising initiatives.
- Support Visual Merchandising teams by developing spatial layouts and zoning plans for selected in-store installations.
- Ensure product presentations and display concepts enhance storytelling and drive retail engagement.
- Support the preparation of design presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in product design, preferably within the retail or fashion industry.
- Demonstrated experience through a strong and diverse portfolio of merchandise/product design projects.
- Experience in animation or franchise graphic character designs preferred.
- Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other industry-relevant tools.
- Solid understanding of textile design, materials, and production/manufacturing processes.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple design projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and articulate design concepts clearly.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams, including merchandising, branding, and operations.
- Adaptable and receptive to feedback, with the ability to translate stakeholder input into actionable design improvements.
