Product Testing Director, Global Consumer Technology

We are partnering with a leading global consumer technology organisation to appoint a Product Testing Director to lead and transform its global product testing capability. This is a strategic and operational leadership role overseeing end-to-end testing across hardware, software, mechanical, safety and system-level domains, with a mandate to build a future-ready testing organisation supporting current and next-generation products.

The role will define the global testing strategy across multiple R&D sites and laboratories, modernising testing through automation, AI-enabled and predictive methodologies, and using test data to identify issues earlier, accelerate development cycles and continuously improve product quality and performance. You will ensure testing reflects real-world consumer usage while incorporating competitive benchmarking, certification and compliance requirements.

Leading a large, geographically distributed testing organisation, you will optimise resources and capabilities across global sites, strengthen technical and leadership depth, and drive collaboration across Product Development, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain. You will also provide senior leadership with clear visibility of product and testing risks, using data and technical insights to influence critical product decisions.

Requirements:

• Over 15 years of experience in product testing, test engineering, verification & validation or quality within a technology/product development environment, including senior leadership experience.
• Proven track record of building or transforming large global testing organisations across multiple countries and laboratories.
• Strong multi-domain testing experience across hardware, software, mechanical, safety and/or system-level testing.
• Hands-on understanding of advanced testing methodologies, including automation, AI-enabled and predictive testing, with strong use of test data for continuous improvement.
• Experience with third-party/competitive product testing, certification and compliance testing.
• Strong executive presence and ability to communicate technical risks and influence senior Engineering, Product, Quality and Supply Chain stakeholders.
• Consumer electronics or complex engineered product experience is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
