The Job
The Product Support Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering/technical support and expertise to airlines and MROs for the Liebherr products in-service or preparing the entry into service.
What You Can Expect of the Role
- You'll act as the focal point for reporting, monitoring, and following up of technical issues related to product reliability and performance with OEMs, operators, and customers.
- You'll assist with warranty investigation, elaborate technical conclusions, and make recommendations for warranty decisions.
- You'll liaise with the Liebherr Group's AER network (OEMs & MRO sites, as required) to establish responses to technical queries and support Field Service Representatives (FSR).
- You'll support the review of removal data and analysis of operational data for technical review, reliability analysis, and monitoring (e.g. fleet, system, component MTBUR).
- You'll review changes and updates to Technical Publications (CMM/CRM/SIL/SB) and provide guidance (e.g. repair shop, repair development.) on recommended/necessary follow-on action.
- You'll update and implement Technical Publication changes into the internal database and resolve any queries and/or discrepancies in technical documentation with the OEM.
- You'll support capital equipment justification, cost estimation, and ROI analysis fornew capability projects.
- You'll respond to customer or business partner requests for technical case or engineering disposition.
- You'll initiate and support OEM engineering activities (e.g. work scope review, preventive maintenance programs).
- You'll participate in the specification, review and selection of vendors/suppliers related to repair requirements.
- Any other duties as assigned.
What We Expect of You
- Engineering degree in the field of Mechanical /Electronic / Aerospace or Aeronautic or equivalent.
- 3 - 5years work experience related to aviation repair or aviation industry environment.
- Demonstrated experience in Part 145 organization repair workflow processes.
- Experience in maintenance or overhaul of Aircraft landing gears will be advantageous.
- Key understanding of Hydraulic / Pneumatic theory and operation.
- A broad knowledge of theory, principles and practical application of key management tools, such as project planning, risk assessment, statistics, and statistical process control.
- Good understanding of technical documents (such as CMMs, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical schematics), process qualification & capability certification.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team organization.
- Flexibility to take on other various engineering related assignments / responsibilities as required for future growth of operations.
- Occasional travel to domestic / international destinations for purpose of training / work-related objectives (estimated 10% - 20% of time on annual basis)
