Deployment of product safety rules
- Deploy Product Safety rules at the level of each subsidiary, including business rules, in the product development and marketing processes.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and perform audits and internal controls in his/her area of responsibility and steer the implementation of recommendations following audits/controls.
2. Local Product Steward Network
- Interface with other Product Stewards of countries within area of responsibility
- Develop and deliver training courses adapted to the Product Stewards network
3. Regulatory expertise and impact analysis
- Develop knowledge in regional regulations (local GHS, REACh-like, etc.) by participating where available in conferences, technical committees, congresses, professional associations, etc.
- Perform active regulatory monitoring, identify threats and regulatory issues on products and on critical substances for businesses and communicate with the relevant teams
4. Management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Finished products and raw materials
- Coordinate requests for the creation/update of SDSs in his/her geographical area of responsibility, including UMDS, and measure progress through KPIs for all BUs.
- Ensure raw material (RM) SDSs are collected/compliant/created/updated and chemical substances are created/updated as necessary within Safety Product tools. Verify data quality prior to submission of applications and validate SDSs.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders in requirements for GHS label creation
5. Operational support for regulatory compliance
- Provide support to Affiliates and Business Lines in regulatory procedures (declarations, notifications, registrations) and for responses to authorities/customers within assigned countries of responsibility.
- Ensure mandatory annual reporting of imported products and chemical constituents in specific countries (assigned) with support of local Product Stewards
- Contribute to Product Safety activities in collaboration with the other stakeholders from other regions and/or BU Product Stewards. The role may also involve contributing to cross-regional or corporate-level regulatory and conformity projects,
- Implement regulatory deployment programs in affiliates within your scope of responsibility in collaboration with the subsidiaries concerned.
Requirement
- Diploma/Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or equivalent - Ideally, some experience with SDS authoring, GHS compliance, REACh regulations
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point), Teams. Experience in data mining, data processing and VBA programming skills is highly desired
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and report significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Communication, team player, analytical, maturity, comfortable working with ambiguity
- Experience working in the chemical industry. Ideally, experience in the implementation of chemical regulations or hazardous goods transport regulations or REACh (and equivalents) or the classification of products in the different GHS.
- Ideally 5 - 8 years experience in a technical role
