Role Summary:
Work on Embedded x86 SOC debug and failure analysis for customer and factory failures. Reproduce failures, isolate root cause, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, validation, FW, manufacturing) to drive corrective actions and quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand SOC as a complete system (HW, FW, BIOS, SW)
- Run and debug system-level tests (SLT), reproduce failures, collect logs
- Set up bench-level and system-level testing/diagnostics
- Generate hypotheses, design experiments and electrical tests to validate
- Perform root cause analysis, resolve quality issues, drive product improvements
- Provide technical support and generate reports for customer cases
Preferred Experience:
- Embedded systems, validation, or HW/FW debug (internship/project OK)
- Understanding of computer architecture (CPU, memory, storage, PCIe, USB, networking)
- Hands-on with x86 platforms (desktop, industrial PC, server, embedded)
- Exposure to system bring-up, BIOS/UEFI, boot flow, POST, OS boot troubleshooting
- Basic familiarity with debug interfaces/tools (UART, JTAG, oscilloscope, logic analyzer – plus)
- Programming: C/C++, Python, Perl
- Linux command-line environment
- AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) – plus
Education:
BS/MS in EE, CE, CS, or related field, 0–2 years experience
