Position Summary

The Product division at BCS leads industry wide engagements and manages the end-to-end lifecycle of payment products, collaborating closely with scheme owners and participants to ensure alignment with industry needs and regulatory requirements.

The Product Manager drives the conceptualisation, development, go-to-market, launch, continuous improvements, and longer-term evolution of the payment products and services.

Through effective engagement and close working collaboration with stakeholders, both internally and externally, on all levels, from top leadership to the working team, the incumbent will connect strategy and end-to-end execution to drive growth, sustainability and profitability to meet BCS goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Strategy: Formulate strategic product roadmap and vision in alignment with organisation strategy and ensure that the product roadmap supports business drivers by defining success metrics for the products
  • Build Relationship: Work with internal and external, including the organisations leadership to define strategic direction for the product to drive growth, sustainability and profitability. Identify and manage partnerships to complement product development and product commercialisation strategy
  • Scan the Market: Seek new financial services technology providers for collaboration; analyse emerging trends in technologies, competitors, customer behavior and competitive best practices into product vision and roadmap. Provide leadership and intelligence on market trends for product development and innovation.
  • Lead innovation: Take complete ownership of product innovation and work with internal and external stakeholders on development activities from market needs, product conceptualisation, product definition, business case, build, pilot, and go-to-market strategy
  • Execute and Commercialize: Lead end-to-end planning and monitoring of delivery/post-delivery performance of the new products and payment services, including P&L and commercial success
  • Ensure compliance: Ensure adherence of new services and products to relevant regulatorygovernance requirements
  • Operationalise: Lead day-to-day business process matters such as technical support, operational issues, client service support and legal documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in any discipline, preferably Banking or IT
  • 5 years of experience in product development, product management with specific industry expertise in at least one of the following areas: banking / financial platforms
  • Excellent track record in managing, developing and launching new products and leading innovation projects as part of a cross-functional team in a flat organization.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and stakeholder management, with the ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of the payments industry and related technologies
  • Strong experience in matrix and project management, macro and micro level thinking and analysis
  • A passion for understanding market and client needs, and having a relentless desire to solve pain-points using customer-centric design
  • Self-starter, good team player, fast learner, curious, resilient, adaptable and entrepreneurial
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to articulate priorities to cross-functional audiences.
  • Proficient in customer relations and stakeholder management
