Job Summary
The product manager leads the lifecycle and profitability management of a semiconductor packaging materials portfolio, driving revenue growth, product development, and market strategy execution.
Responsibilities
- Drive activities to achieve revenue targets for the semiconductor packaging materials product portfolio
- Define global product portfolio roadmaps and establish product positioning to meet market demands
- Conduct profitability analysis of product ranges to optimize financial performance
- Develop business cases for new product-market combinations to support strategic growth
- Identify customer and market needs through Voice of Customer (VoC) research to guide product decisions
- Manage product obsolescence and part change notifications to ensure product lifecycle continuity
- Lead the product development process for new products and modifications, coordinating cross-functional teams
- Generate business cases to support new product development aligned with market needs
- Determine pricing strategies based on market analysis and customer willingness-to-pay research
- Analyze market intelligence including customer trends, competition, and competing technologies to inform strategy
- Prepare annual operating plans and strategic review plans, aligning forecasted volumes and prices with global sales teams
- Define strategies for cost of goods sold (COGS) and profitability by product family, region, and channel
- Collaborate with R&D and engineering/NPI teams to develop and scale-up products within timelines
- Support sales organizations with product information, launches, and release procedures to drive adoption
- Work with marketing communications to plan product launch campaigns and develop sales collateral
- Represent the company at exhibitions, technical conferences, and industry events to promote products
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical or Material Science
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- MBA qualification advantageous
- 12-15 years of work experience, initially in Engineering or R&D progressing into commercial roles such as product management
- Extensive experience in semiconductor packaging assembly materials and processes
- Strong knowledge of the semiconductor market, customer requirements, and industry trends
- Expertise in product management, branding, and commercialization
- Process-oriented and results-driven approach to managing product portfolios
- Ability to analyze complex data with strong analytical, logical, and rational reasoning skills
- Effective interpersonal and networking skills to foster collaboration across cultures and time zones
