Position Description
Lead the management of the entire product and program life cycle. This includes being a team resource and expert through the various stages of product and program life cycles, including but not limited to research on clinical and customer needs, R&D, sales trials, product launch, post market surveillance, inventory management, and field support. Work closely with the global Clinical Development teams and align on strategies and best practices.
Place in the Organization
The Clinical Development Specialist covers a regional scope within Southeast Asia and reports to the Vice President of Clinical Development.
- Please note that this role is internally titled Specialist. Externally, we refer to it as Product Manager or Associate Product Manager, depending on how your background aligns with the team's needs, to better reflect the role's responsibilities and growth opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of strategies and implementation to increase market adoption and penetration of Applied Medical's best solutions.
- Develop expertise of how our devices and programs are used by customers and maintain knowledge of main competition.
- Provide leadership and expertise for any product or program development or enhancement projects, including but not limited to the design input, design validation, hazard analysis, Clinical Data research and compilation, post-market surveillance, complaints, labels & Instructions for Use (IFU) and pricing.
- Forge relationships with thought leaders in their respective markets to enhance understanding of clinical needs.
- Contribute to strategic decision-making for product and program life cycle.
- Manage sales trials or education projects relating to product and program launches or improvements.
- Protect and build product brands, including participation and contribution to organized national and international meetings and congresses.
- Mentor team members and act as a recognized resource to local team.
- Contribute to selection of appropriate team members.
- Assist in other cross-functional and interdepartmental projects that may require support.
Working Relationships
- Clinical Development team functions include mentoring and providing expertise to Clinical Development team members.
- Product and Program related projects may require cooperation with Engineering, Market Implementation, Branding, Regulatory, Education and Field Implementation teams.
- General product and program, competitive analysis and relevant reports should be shared and presented to the global Clinical Development team members.
- Product and program launches and trade shows (domestic and international) will require collaboration with the Education, Branding, Market Implementation, Field Implementation and global Clinical Development teams.
- Pricing changes and obsolescence projects will require cooperation with Senior Management, Clinical Development, Customer Relations, Field Operations, Contracts, international Customer Relations, and international Operations teams.
- Creation and updates to, product support material (PSM) and customer correspondence require collaboration with the Market Implementation and Branding teams.
- Support for Clinical Evaluation and post-market surveillance may require interface with Field Implementation, international and domestic Customer Relations, Regulatory, Field Operations and global Clinical Development teams.

Education and/or Formal Training:
- University Graduate
- Basic mathematics and analysis
- Statistics (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of project or product management expertise (medical device industry preferred)
- Experience in giving presentations
- Data mining and analysis (preferred)
- OR experience (preferred)
Working Environment:
- The role will be performed in an office environment with needs to be at customers sites, and meeting and congress locations (domestically and internationally)
- Occasional need to travel internationally
