Product Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the product owner for managing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Ensure timely closure of RFQs and maintain tracking through Turnaround Time (TAT) metrics. Drive the execution of First Article Tests (FAT), First Lot Production (FLP), and First Article Inspections (FAI) to fulfill customer specifications. Oversee Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing setup, ensuring accuracy and compliance with TAT. Lead initiatives for product performance improvement, focusing on yield enhancement, scrap reduction, On-Time Delivery (OTD), and Parts Per Million (PPM) reduction. Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to manage product concessions and ensure adherence to customer requirements. Supervise packaging, raw materials, tooling, and fixture management for assigned projects. Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding product-related inquiries. Participate in weekly reviews of FAT, yield, scrap, and OTD status to ensure achievement of targets.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Optics, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a relevant field. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in optics, opto-mechanical, or opto-electronic systems. Strong understanding of optical components and their functionality. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks. Experience in designing jigs and fixtures. Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean principles. Practical experience with optical testing and metrology systems. Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities.
