Job Description

The role is responsible for managing metal injection molding (MIM) and ceramic injection molding (CIM) New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from development through mass production. The incumbent will ensure project deliverables meet schedule, quality, cost, and yield targets, while continuously improving product robustness and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage MIM/CIM NPI projects, ensuring on-time delivery and achievement of defined quality, yield, and performance targets.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams (tooling, process, QA, production, purchasing) to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.

  • Serve as a key technical interface with customers, suppliers, and external vendors, addressing design, material, process, and quality-related topics.

  • Participate in project feasibility studies, engineering reviews, and risk assessments, including DFM/DFA and process capability evaluations.

  • Drive process optimization, yield improvement, and defect reduction through structured problem-solving and data-driven methodologies.

  • Conduct and support R&D activities to enhance materials, processes, tooling concepts, and overall company technical capabilities.

  • Develop, document, and maintain process specifications, control plans, and technical reports to strengthen the company's knowledge base.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction, cycle time improvement, and process standardization.

  • Assist in supplier technical evaluation and qualification, ensuring material and process compliance with project requirements.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 2 years (5 years for Diploma holders) of relevant experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably involving MIM, CIM, powder metallurgy, or precision manufacturing.

  • Proven experience in project execution, process development, and yield improvement.

  • Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and data analysis skills.

  • Working knowledge of DOE, FMEA, SPC, and other statistical or quality tools (preferred).

  • Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD software and interpretation of engineering drawings.

  • Solid understanding of materials properties, processing, and characterization techniques.

  • Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and with external stakeholders.
