About the Role
The Product Designer will be responsible for designing and developing bags, accessories, and other soft goods from concept through to production. This role involves translating creative ideas into tangible products by working with materials, technical specifications, sampling, and manufacturing partners. The designer will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure each product meets the brand's aesthetic, functional, and quality standards while remaining aligned with market trends and customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Research market, design, and material trends relevant to bags, accessories, and soft goods
- Design products across seasonal collections and core product lines
- Develop product concepts from ideation through sampling, refinement, and production
- Produce clear technical drawings, measurements, and production-ready specifications
- Source and recommend suitable materials, trims, colors, and finishes aligned with brand standards
- Coordinate with suppliers and factories on sampling, revisions, and production feasibility
- Support sampling and product development processes to ensure designs translate accurately into final products
- Conduct quality checks with the product team to ensure finished products meet design intent and specifications
- Assist in developing product packaging, labels, and related components to prepare products for market launch
- Ensure all designs align with the brand's functional, aesthetic, and quality benchmarks
Requirements:
- Background in fashion design, industrial design, product design, or physical product development
- Experience designing accessories, bags, small lifestyle furniture or other soft goods products
- Strong understanding of materials, construction techniques, and sampling processes
- Ability to translate concepts into technical drawings and production specifications
- Experience sourcing materials, trims, colors, and finishes
- Familiarity with working with suppliers and factories on sampling and production
- Strong attention to detail and ability to balance creativity with practical execution
- Good organizational and project coordination skills
- Collaborative team player with clear communication skills
- Strong interest in fashion, lifestyle, and consumer design trends
