The Product Tech Delivery Manager for Merchandising Solutions is a strategic product leader responsible for the vision, strategy, and successful delivery of the entire Merchandising solutions portfolio for FairPrice Group (FPG).
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and Champion: Establish and articulate a clear, compelling, long-term product vision and strategy for the entire Merchandising Solutions portfolio, aligned with FPG's business objectives.
- Roadmap Ownership: Own and prioritize the end-to-end product roadmap, balancing new feature development, technical debt reduction, and system maintenance.
- Business Case Development: Create robust business cases, cost/benefit analyses, and ROI justifications for major product investments.
2. Stakeholder Collaboration & Management
- Business Partnership: Act as the primary interface between IT and key business stakeholders (e.g., Merchandising, Commercial, Finance, Operations).
- Requirements Gathering: Lead the elicitation and analysis of business requirements, translating complex needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
- Change Management: Collaborate with business partners and training teams to ensure successful adoption and change management for all deployed solutions.
3. Execution & Delivery
- Agile Leadership: Work closely with engineering and design teams in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban) to oversee the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch.
- Backlog Management: Maintain a prioritized product backlog, ensuring engineering teams are consistently working on the highest-value initiatives.
- Quality Assurance: Define success metrics and acceptance criteria, participating in testing and validation to ensure products meet high standards of quality and performance.
4. System Portfolio Management
- Holistic Ownership: Manage the product lifecycle across the entire suite of Merchandising applications, ensuring seamless integration and data flow between systems like PIM, Pricing, and Space Planning.
- Technology Assessment: Continuously evaluate the technology landscape to identify and recommend modern, scalable solutions (e.g., SaaS, build vs. buy) that can further optimize merchandising processes.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in IT/Tech, with at least 4+ years as a Product Manager focused on enterprise retail solutions.
- Mandatory: Deep functional knowledge and experience managing products within the Merchandising/Commercial domain for a major retailer or CPG company.
- Proven track record of defining and delivering complex, integrated IT products (e.g., PIM, Assortment, Promotion & Pricing).
- Expertise in Agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and using product tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills, capable of engaging with C-level executives and technical engineers.
Highly Desired:
- Prior experience with leading commercial SaaS solutions (e.g., SAP, Oracle Retail, JDA/Blue Yonder, Informatica, or specialized vendor solutions).
- A technical background (e.g., Computer Science degree or previous engineering/architecture experience) is a strong plus.
- Experience operating in a large, fast-paced, multi-channel (online and offline) retail environment.
