The Product Capacity Specialist supports execution of the global capacity strategy by partnering with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Operations to assign and manage inventory (space and power) against revenue opportunities.
This role acts as a key operational link between sales pipeline demand and data center inventory availability. The Specialist ensures capacity is allocated in alignment with governance standards, supports utilization optimization, and maintains clear reporting to enable informed sales planning and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Capacity Assignment & Sales Support
- Partner with Sales and Solutions teams to evaluate opportunities and assign space and power in accordance with global capacity policies.
- Validate availability against the capacity ledger and support management of holds, reservations, and commits.
- Provide timely confirmations and escalate conflicts or allocation risks.
- Identify and escalate potential oversubscription or stranded capacity issues.
- Inventory Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor space and power utilization across sites and highlight inefficiencies or fragmentation.
- Support analysis of consolidation or reallocation opportunities to improve usable inventory.
- Partner with Operations to validate constraints and support incremental capacity improvements.
- Reporting & Planning Support
- Maintain accurate reporting on inventory availability, utilization, and reservation status.
- Prepare data inputs for weekly capacity reviews and monthly planning forums.
- Support sales forecasting by ensuring pipeline demand aligns with available inventory.
- Governance & Data Integrity
- Ensure compliance with capacity governance processes and change control standards.
- Maintain data accuracy across planning systems (DCIM, CRM/CPQ, ERP, etc.).
- Document allocation decisions and inventory changes in accordance with policy.
- Support process improvement efforts related to reporting and workflow efficiency.
Knowledge & Attributes
- Working knowledge of data center space, power, and cooling fundamentals.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret inventory data and capacity models.
- Experience collaborating with Sales, Operations, and Planning teams.
- Strong reporting and data validation capabilities.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations, analytics, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–6 years of experience in inventory management, capacity planning, reporting, or analytics roles.
- Experience within data center, cloud, telecommunications, or infrastructure-focused organizations preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as DCIM, CMDB, CRM/CPQ, ERP, and analytics platforms.
- Experience supporting sales-facing or operational planning functions preferred.
