Role Description
We are looking for a Procurement & Supply Chain Manager with experience in the energy storage industry and preferably hands-on exposure to flow batteries. This role is critical to strengthening our supply chain, optimizing costs, ensuring quality and building long-term partnerships with suppliers. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can balance strategic sourcing with practical, on-the-ground execution, while also managing cross-border freight operations across Asia and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement activities, including cost analysis, supplier negotiations and contract management.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers, with a focus on flow battery and energy storage components.
- Conduct due diligence on suppliers, including audits, compliance checks and financial/operational assessments.
- Establish supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality and reliability.
- Perform or supervise quality inspections of critical components before shipment.
- Manage freight operations and logistics planning, particularly along the China–India, China–EU and China–Southeast Asia trade lanes.
- Optimize shipping costs and lead times by working with freight forwarders, logistics partners and customs brokers.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to align procurement with technical and project requirements.
- Build strong supplier and logistics partner relationships to ensure a resilient and cost-effective supply chain.
Job Requirements
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably within the energy storage or battery industry.
- Experience with flow batteries, lithium-ion batteries or related electrochemical systems strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of international freight operations, including customs procedures, Incoterms, and trade compliance, with direct experience in China–India, China–EU and China–Southeast Asia routes.
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier evaluation, cost benchmarking and strategic sourcing.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality assurance and supplier development.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written)
- Willingness to travel to China & India for supplier visits and quality inspections.
