About Our Client

Job Description
- Execute end-to-end procurement of specialty chemicals (solvents, reagents, raw materials) and engineering components (e.g. pumps, valves, instrumentation)
- Interpret and validate technical specifications, including SDS, purity levels, and material grades, to ensure correct sourcing decisions
- Evaluate and onboard suppliers based on quality standards, regulatory compliance, cost competitiveness, and delivery reliability
- Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, contract terms, and long-term supply agreements
- Monitor supplier performance using KPIs across quality, delivery, and cost drive corrective actions where required
- Coordinate closely with production, engineering, QA, and warehouse teams to align procurement with operational requirements and production schedules
- Manage inventory levels and replenishment planning, balancing supply continuity with working capital optimisation
- Support import/export activities, including compliance with hazardous material handling, storage, and transportation regulations
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to internal SOPs, EH&S requirements, and audit standards
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through spend analysis, market benchmarking, and supplier rationalisation
The Successful Applicant
- Proven procurement experience within a chemical, pharmaceutical, or process manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of chemical raw materials, technical specifications, and safety documentation
- Experience sourcing both direct materials (chemicals) and indirect/technical items (engineering spares, MRO components)
- Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships, including qualification, performance management, and development
- Strong track record in leading commercial negotiationsand managing supplier contracts
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in handling and procuring hazardous or controlled materials
- Experience in inventory planning, forecasting, and supply continuity management within a production environment
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) for purchasing, data tracking, and reporting
- Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analysis, cost optimisation, and supply market assessment
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and quality teams in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail with a structured and compliance-driven approach
