What you'll do:

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for orchestrating the full spectrum of procurement activities related to data centre operations and critical environment categories. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve running tenders from start to finish using advanced e-sourcing platforms, engaging with technical experts to clarify requirements for suppliers, evaluating submissions for compliance and commercial value, supporting negotiations on pricing and terms, partnering with legal teams on contract reviews, aligning sourcing decisions with supplier performance insights from SRM partners, maintaining thorough documentation for audit purposes, managing multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines, and providing transparent communication across regional and global teams. Success in this role requires you to be highly organised, responsive to stakeholder needs, adept at resolving bottlenecks quickly through collaborative problem-solving approaches, and committed to upholding rigorous governance standards throughout every stage of the procurement process.

  • Execute requests for proposals (RFPs), undertake comprehensive tender evaluations, create change orders, and engage proactively with category managers and key stakeholders throughout the procurement process.
  • Manage the entire tender lifecycle by preparing detailed documentation, issuing tenders via e-sourcing platforms, coordinating bidder communications, and ensuring all timelines are met efficiently.
  • Collect, track, and manage supplier questions and clarifications coordinate technical input from engineering subject matter experts to provide clear responses to suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier submissions for both commercial viability and compliance requirements support recommendation development alongside category managers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support commercial negotiations including clarification discussions, pricing reviews, and alignment of scope and contractual terms to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Partner with legal teams to review supplier qualifications, exceptions, and contractual terms assist in progressing redlines towards closure in accordance with organisational standards.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Relationship Management partners to align sourcing outcomes with supplier performance considerations and engagement plans.
  • Maintain meticulous sourcing documentation, approvals, and audit-ready records in line with procurement policy and process requirements.
  • Manage multiple parallel sourcing activities with competing deadlines-including contract renewals or expiries-by identifying bottlenecks early and driving resolutions collaboratively.
  • Communicate progress updates, risks, and decision points clearly to stakeholders across APAC as well as global teams.


What you bring:

To excel as a Procurement Specialist in this organisation you will bring proven experience managing strategic procurement activities within high-urgency environments such as data centres or other critical infrastructure sectors. Your ability to handle complex tenders from inception through contract execution will be complemented by strong stakeholder engagement skills-particularly when collaborating with engineering experts or legal teams. You should possess advanced proficiency using e-sourcing platforms like SAP Ariba (or similar tools), demonstrate meticulous attention to detail when maintaining documentation for audit readiness, exhibit excellent written/verbal communication abilities for both internal/external interactions, show adaptability when juggling multiple projects under tight deadlines, display sound judgement when negotiating commercial terms or resolving exceptions with suppliers, leverage insights from SRM partners effectively during sourcing decisions, uphold rigorous governance standards throughout all stages of procurement activity-and above all else-embrace a collaborative mindset that fosters trust among colleagues across regional/global functions.

  • Minimum degree holder with at least five years experience in a strategic procurement role ideally within data centre environments or other critical national infrastructure industries such as utilities or hospitals.
  • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end tender processes including preparation of tender packs, issuing tenders via e-sourcing platforms (SAP Ariba strongly preferred), managing supplier clarifications professionally, and supporting negotiations through award/contract execution.
  • Proven exposure to procuring mechanical, electrical, fuel or water services within urgent or uptime-driven environments where service continuity is paramount.
  • Ability to engage engineering or technical subject matter experts effectively to obtain inputs and translate requirements clearly for suppliers during the tender process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills enabling precise management of supplier communications as well as clear reporting of progress or risks to stakeholders.
  • Highly organised approach allowing you to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while removing bottlenecks in deadline-driven settings.
  • Experience supporting global or regional category management organisations across multiple geographies familiarity with incorporating supplier performance insights into sourcing decisions through SRM partnerships.
  • Contracting experience with mid-to-large complex suppliers including handling non-standard terms or structured exception processes efficiently.
  • Ability to ramp quickly into tactical backlogs such as expiring contracts mid-year while delivering results on accelerated timelines without compromising compliance.
  • Core competencies include deep understanding of sourcing governance principles commercial acumen regarding total cost thinking comfort interfacing with technical stakeholders professionalism in supplier communication management anticipation of issues coupled with collaborative resolution options effective teamwork across regions/functions.
