Wood Singapore is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager - Capex Equipment to support the delivery of a landmark greenfield pharmaceutical facility project. This role is critical in driving procurement strategies, managing high-value equipment purchases, and ensuring robust vendor and contract execution for a complex, fast-paced capital project.

Responsibilities
- Support the Procurement Director in developing and executing procurement strategies for a large-scale greenfield pharmaceutical project.
- Partner closely with the Procurement Director and cross-functional stakeholders to define, develop, and execute capital procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and corporate governance.
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities for high-value equipment, with a focus on process equipment in a regulated environment.
- Manage high-value contract negotiations and ensure commercial and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive cost efficiencies and ensure value for money through strong negotiation skills and strategic sourcing.
- Oversee supplier selection, qualification, and performance management.
- Oversee and manage procurement processes in SAP and Coupa, ensuring timely vendor onboarding, issuance of POs and reporting.
- Contribute to effective risk management, supplier performance management, and resolution of contractual disputes.
- Ensure procurement practices meet all regulatory, EHS, and corporate compliance standards.
- Engage and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including EPCM/CM contractors, engineering consultants, and major equipment suppliers.
Essential
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years of relevant procurement experience, including at least 5 years in capital project procurement
- Proven experience supporting major pharmaceutical capital projects, preferably within a multinational environment
- Deep understanding of process equipment procurement, with preference for pharma-grade equipment and systems
- Proven track records on low-cost country sourcing from China and other Asian countries
- Intensive experience in managing the entire process equipment purchase cycle from specification development, pre-qualification, selection, expediting, customs clearance, FAT, SAT, commissioning and start-up
- Strong exposure to global project teams and working effectively across time zones with colleagues and vendors internationally
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favourable outcomes
- High degree of resilience, results orientation, and ability to work in high-pressure environments with competing priorities
Desirable
- Experience managing high-value contracts (US$20M or above).
- Familiarity with various project delivery models including EPCM, Construction Management (CM), and Construction Management at Risk (CMaR).
- Demonstrated leadership in managing complex vendor relationships and capital contract execution.
- Ability to thrive in a matrixed, multicultural, and fast-paced project environment.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive in problem-solving.
- Proficient in SAP, Coupa, Ariba P2P, Sourcing to Contract and Contracting modules.
