The Role
As a Procurement Manager, you will be an integral part of the team, supporting the Procurement Lead in acquiring goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively within the Property and Facilities Management (FM) categories across multiple markets. This role is critical in enabling store openings, renovations, and ensuring operations run optimally to provide an excellent customer experience.
You will be responsible for supporting the full procurement lifecycle, from strategy development to supplier relationship management.
Strategic Procurement
- Develop and implement effective tactical and strategic procurement strategies, including category plans aligned with organisational goals, focusing on cost optimisation, risk mitigation, and value maximisation.
- Provide strong business partnering support to property teams.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess market conditions, review spend patterns, and forecast price trends.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, regulations, and internal standards.
- Develop and execute RFQs, RFXs, eAuctions and manage evaluation and negotiation processes.
Supplier Management
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track procurement efficiency, effectiveness, and deliverables.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers to foster long-term partnerships.
- Manage supplier performance, address issues promptly, and conduct regular reviews to drive continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
- Manage and deliver against procurement targets, tracking performance against team goals.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand procurement needs and ensure strong engagement.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and technological advancements to drive innovation and process improvement.
About You
- Possess the leadership and technical skills aligned with Non-Trade Procurement People Standards.
- 5+ years of procurement experience with a strong desire for continued career growth.
- Experience working in teams and managing end-to-end procurement processes, including contract management and negotiation.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent numeracy and analytical skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, well-organised, efficient, and able to work under pressure.
- Achievement-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Strong computer literacy with excellent MS Office skills.
- Experience in construction or FM procurement, or within retail and multi-market environments, is preferred.
- Regional experience covering multiple markets is an advantage.
