Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing and Category Management:
- You will develop and implement comprehensive multi-year procurement strategies for direct spend categories, including but not limited to Fine Food, Frozen Food, Frozen Meat, Frozen Poultry, Dairy, Butter, Cheeses, Dry Food, Seafood etc
- You will develop the category and buying strategies in alignment with the Sales & Business plans and targets, across both the top-line and bottom-line goals
- You will identify and drive cost-saving initiatives, negotiate favourable terms, and manage procurement budgets effectively.
Tactical Buying Process Management:
- You will spearhead and manage the tactical buying process
- You will introduce and implement the division's approach and buying efforts, including training the team's on the processes, and ensuring its quality and compliance
Performance Metrics:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement activities and drive continuous improvement.
Supplier Management:
- You will build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and risk mitigation.
- You will act as the key representative and face of the Business in trade shows, attending negotiations discussion and introductions to various players in the food industry worldwide.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, align procurement strategies, and ensure seamless execution of procurement activities.
Market Analysis:
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, emerging suppliers, and best practices in indirect procurement.
Contract Management:
- Oversee contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements while securing the best value for the organization.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation.
Candidate Profile
Our ideal candidate will be one who has most of the below criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in direct Food procurement, with a proven track record of managing complex procurement functions and achieving cost savings.
- Strong network within the Food industry across the region and globally
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
