Responsible for the end-to-end procurement of Beef and Lamb products, ensuring stable supply, competitive pricing, quality compliance, and effective inventory management to support business growth and operational requirements.
Job Description:
This role sits within the Procurement team and is responsible for the sourcing, planned buying, and end-to-end management of Beef and Lamb categories across local and overseas suppliers. The incumbent works closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and operations teams to ensure timely procurement, cost efficiency, supply continuity and product quality. The role exists to secure reliable supply of Beef and Lamb products that meet commercial, quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting sales, margin, and stock objectives.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for Beef and Lamb products, including sourcing, price negotiation, order placement, and supplier coordination
- Support demand planning and buying forecasts to align procurement activities with sales plans and stock targets
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and overseas suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and commercial competitiveness
- Monitor market trends, cost movements, and supply conditions to support informed buying decisions
- Work closely with internal teams (Sales, Operations, QA, Finance) to align procurement plans with demand forecasts and inventory targets
- Ensure products comply with regulatory, quality, and food safety requirements
- Monitor stock levels, slow-moving inventory, and expiry risks, and propose mitigation actions
- Support supplier evaluations, onboarding, and periodic performance reviews
- Prepare procurement-related reports, analysis, and documentation as required
Job Requirement:
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Food Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 2-5 years of procurement or buying experience, preferably in Beef and Lamb categories
- Knowledge of meat specifications, cuts, and supply chain dynamics is an advantage
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and cost management skills
