Job Responsibilities
Vendor Sourcing & Management
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for precision components, raw materials (metals, alloys, specialty materials), tooling, and consumables
- Develop and maintain approved vendor lists
- Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations (quality, delivery, cost, compliance)
- Build long-term relationships with strategic suppliers
Procurement Planning
- Review MRP/production plans and raise purchase orders accordingly
- Ensure on-time procurement to avoid production delays
- Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams for material specifications
- Prepare and process purchase orders (POs)
- Track order status and expedite critical deliveries
Cost Control & Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers
- Perform cost analysis and benchmarking
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality
Inventory Coordination & Documentation
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores/warehouse
- Avoid stockouts and overstocking
- Support inventory optimization initiatives
- Maintain procurement records and documentation
- Coordinate with finance for invoice verification and payment processing
Position Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
- 2-5 years of procurement experience in precision manufacturing, machining, automotive, aerospace, or related industries
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
