Procurement Engineer (Semiconductor Industry)
Responsible for ensuring the timely and cost‑effective procurement of goods and services required by, including software, technical hardware, mechanical components, and assemblies.
Developing qualified suppliers and partners, managing sourcing strategies, and ensuring supplier risk management, readiness and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing & RFQ Management : Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers based on technical requirements, quality standards, cost competitiveness, and capacity.
Supplier & Vendor Management : Build and maintain strong supplier relationships manage daily communications, request and assess quotations, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and basic contractual terms
Procurement Operations : Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, lead‑time data, and delivery commitments in internal systems.
Technical and Cost Analysis : Interpret technical specifications to ensure procured materials and services meet project requirements.
Compliance and Governance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
Cross Functional Collaboration : Partner with Engineering, Project Management, and other departments to align procurement activities with project timelines and operational needs.
The Desired Skills:
Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management or relevant discipline
Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g. CIPS, CSCP) is a plus.
3 years of working experience of procurement experience with complex integrated hardware, preferably in semiconductor industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical/ electrical components and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience with international sourcing and logistics, including Incoterms.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier evaluation, and basic cost analysis.
Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office tools (preferred)
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Understanding of compliance requirements related to procurement policies, documentation, and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO standards and QMS).
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to support multiple projects and deadlines.
