Job Description

Role Summary

The Procurement Director- Iron Ore Raw Material's Procurement will be responsible for leading the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and management of iron ore procurement activities for the organization.

This role will ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable supply of iron ore to support the company's steelmaking or trading operations, while building and maintaining strong supplier relationships across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for iron ore aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintaining relationships with existing mining companies and suppliers of other categories
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure reliable supply sources from global markets.
  • Collection and analysis of Iron Ore market information
  • Ensure timely delivery of required quantities and grades to meet operational needs .
  • Oversee contract management, performance monitoring, and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global miners, traders, and logistics providers.
  • Monitor global commodity trends, pricing dynamics, and supply-demand factors.
  • Negotiate long-term agreements and spot purchases to optimize cost and supply stability.
  • Drive cost savings and value creation through effective negotiation and sourcing initiatives.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and procurement reports for management review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in International trading, Business, Procurement or related field Business English related professionalize is a must.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 8 years in iron ore, steel, or commodity physical trading.
  • Strong network and established relationships with global iron ore suppliers and traders.
  • Proven track record in large-scale contract negotiation and supplier management.
  • Solid understanding of global commodity markets, pricing indices (e.g., Platts, Metal Bulletin), and shipping/logistics.
  • Experience in managing procurement teams and working in cross-functional environment.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent analytical and commercial acumen.
  • Global mindset with cultural sensitivity.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
