Provides handson process support, wafer evaluation, and data collection for semiconductor process development and manufacturing activities. Executes defined process tasks including metrology, inspection, DOE execution, and process monitoring by following established procedures and specifications. Works under general supervision with moderate autonomy and collaborates closely with Process Engineering, Integration, and Metrology teams to enable process characterization, learning, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executes process support for development and manufacturing according to process documentation, run cards, and experiment plans.

  • Performs wafer metrology and inspection using approved tools to collect accurate process data.

  • Supports DOE by running wafers, tracking splits, ensuring proper disposition, and validating compliance.

  • Evaluates wafers with visual inspection, defect review, measurement verification, and basic data checks.

  • Assists in process characterization and qualification by collecting and reporting measurement results.

  • Monitors process conditions, wafer status, and lot flow escalates abnormalities to Process Engineering.

  • Conducts process checks, rework, and wafer recovery per procedures and instructions.

  • Documents work via logs, records, summaries, and shift notes for data integrity and compliance.

  • Helps update procedures, checklists, and instructions based on feedback and changes.

  • Generates Quality Notifications for deviations or anomalies and supports root cause analysis.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Complies with Applied Materials EHS, cleanroom, chemical handling, and contamination control requirements, including proper use of PPE.

  • Adheres to process discipline and data integrity standards, ensuring accurate execution and reporting of experimental and manufacturing activities.

  • Proactively reports safety concerns, process risks, and abnormal conditions and participates in required safety and quality training.

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates proficiency in process flows, wafer handling, metrology techniques, inspection methods, and experimental execution within defined procedures.

  • Applies established analytical thinking to identify abnormal results or trends and escalates findings appropriately.

  • Understands how process support, metrology, and experimental execution contribute to process development, yield learning, and business objectives

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

  • Communicates clearly with Process Engineers, Metrology Engineers, and crossfunctional teams regarding experiment status, data quality, and observed issues.

  • Provides effective shift handovers to ensure continuity of process activities.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Works in cleanroom and lab environments, requiring use of PPE such as coveralls, gloves, safety glasses, and chemical protection as required.

  • Performs tasks involving standing for extended periods, wafer handling, and movement between process and metrology areas.
