Job Summary
You will support process engineering and sustaining activities for a European semiconductor material manufacturer, driving process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to enable smooth mass manufacturing transitions and cost-effective operations.
Responsibilities
- Be part of the process engineering team to optimize processes and sustain engineering activities for new and existing materials and equipment
- Troubleshooting efforts on manufacturing lines to resolve equipment and material issues, ensuring minimal disruption
- Identify process issues, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve customer complaints through effective problem-solving techniques
- Review and maintain accurate, up-to-date process documentation to ensure compliance and knowledge retention
- Drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, productivity, and reduce scrap costs
- Facilitate smooth transitions from development to mass manufacturing by coordinating cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to improve process workflows and operational efficiency
- Support procurement in sourcing strategies and cost reduction activities related to materials and equipment
- Support industrialization projects focused on process and equipment improvements to enhance manufacturing capabilities
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering or Science in Mechanical, Chemical, Chemistry, or Material Science
- 5 to 8 years in process development and sustaining engineering in semiconductor processes
- Proficiency in lean six sigma methodologies to drive process improvements
- Strong application of statistical tools including SPC, Minitab, DOE, FMEA, and JMP for data-driven decision making
- Knowledge of ISO standards and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management systems
- Experience with SAP for creating BOMs, routing, and new material number creation
- Demonstrated management skills with the ability to analyze complex problems, work independently, and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Work location in the West region (bus transport provided)
