Job Responsibilities:
Perform lab-scale and piolet-level compounding of new polymer / filler systems
Performing injection molding to prepare the test specimen for polymer testing
Ensures that lab machinery is operated following established processing, quality, safety, and housekeeping procedures
Cleans and prepare machinery for efficient changeovers and subsequent compounding & injection molding process
To monitor and ensure laboratory process machinery integrity and reliability, routine maintenance of machinery & auxiliary equipment.
Identify problems and recommends solutions (process parameters, equipment upgrade, new equipment definition).
Development of new and improved process for custom polymer compounds
Support the transfer of data, processes and technical specifications for implementation into large scale manufacturing operations
Provide leadership in process safety ensuring all new and modified processes meet best management practices within the industry
Keep complete and accurate records of process parameters
Provide operational training for operators or related personnel
Any other ad-hoc duties as required
Job Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Science or Engineering, preferably in Material Science, Polymer Technology or Chemical Engineering from a renowned university
Minimum 3 years experience with a strong background in organic and inorganic materials formulation, polymer processing and characterization.
Experienced in polymer compounding flow simulation and /or tooling CAD/CAM will be an added advantage
Strong track record in product development
