Process Engineer (Metrology & Automation)

Join GE Vernova and help build robust, repeatable inspection processes that support advanced repair operations. In this role, you will qualify, industrialize, and sustain metrology and inspection technologies including CMM, Blue Light Scanning, and Vision Systems. This role will also implement and sustain automation solutions across repair processes. You will work across Engineering, Quality, and Operations to improve process capability, consistency, and efficiency in a safety-first environment.

What you'll do

• Qualify and industrialize metrology and automation technologies for repair operations

• Develop, validate, and document process methods, work instructions, and standard operating procedures

• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions

• Support technician capability development, including inspection methods and GD&T application

• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline is essential

• At least 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing, repair, or industrial operations is essential

• Hands-on experience with metrology or inspection technologies such as CMM, Blue Light Scanning, and/or Vision Systems is essential

• Knowledge in mechanical design, PLC, software or electrical engineering for automation technologies is essential

• Experience in process development, qualification, validation, or industrialization

• Working knowledge of GD&T

• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills

It would be great if you also have

• Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (MSA)

• Experience supporting technical training or technician certification

• Familiarity with continuous improvement and structured root cause problem-solving

• Exposure to robotics in an industrial environment
