Job Description - Process Engineer (Maintenance)

1. Engineering & Technical Support

• Review P&ID, PFD, equipment datasheets, and process design conditions.

• Verify operating parameters (flow, pressure, temperature, NPSH, fluid properties).

• Provide technical support for pumps/compressors troubleshooting.

• Analyze root causes of equipment failure (cavitation, vibration, seal failure, overheating).

• Recommend process improvement and optimization solutions.

2. Maintenance Coordination

• Coordinate with mechanical team during dismantling and reassembly.

• Verify correct material selection and compatibility with process fluid.

• Review inspection findings and recommend corrective actions.

• Ensure proper alignment with design specifications and tolerances.

• Support spare parts evaluation and technical clarification.

3. Process Safety & Compliance

• Participate in risk assessment (RA / HAZOP when required).

• Ensure proper isolation, depressurization, and draining procedures.

• Support Permit-to-Work (PTW) compliance.

• Ensure adherence to plant safety standards and statutory requirements.

4. Testing & Commissioning

• Witness hydrotest / pressure test when required.

• Support flushing and cleaning activities.

• Monitor startup performance and verify process stability.

• Troubleshoot abnormal operating conditions.

• Prepare technical reports and maintenance documentation.
