Job Description

Role Overview

The Process Engineer III will lead process design activities and provide technical oversight during FEED and detailed engineering phases for refinery and chemical projects. The role involves managing internal design teams and supervising engineering contractors to ensure alignment with company standards, project specifications, and operational requirements.

Process Design & Engineering Leadership

  • Lead and guide junior process engineers in the preparation of: Heat & material balances, Process flow diagrams (PFDs) and design flow plans, Process equipment design and preliminary hydraulic calculations, Utility and energy balances Basic process control and instrumentation philosophies Materials selection and safety facilities design
  • Establish process engineering organization structure and staffing as required.

Technical Oversight & Optimization

  • Perform and/or lead process optimization studies to evaluate: CAPEX and OPEX reduction opportunities Process configuration alternatives Safety facilities and operability improvements
  • Provide technical governance and oversight of engineering contractors during FEED and detailed engineering to ensure compliance with: Company standards and guidelines Project specifications Owner and regulatory requirements

Safety, Reviews & Execution Support

  • Participate in and contribute to HAZOP / Hazard & Operability Reviews for new, modified, or existing refinery facilities.
  • Provide commissioning and start-up support for new or modified units, as required, in coordination with operations and project teams.

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in :Petroleum refining and/or chemical process industries Engineering contractors supporting refinery or chemical facilities
  • At least 10 years of experience in capital project development, including FEED and detailed engineering phases.

Competencies

  • Strong leadership and mentoring capability
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities
  • Strong communication skills for technical and business interactions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
